Studying Indigenous cuisine preserves their culture, promotes sustainable living, and enriches American culinary diversity. However, colonization and assimilation have negatively impacted Indigenous food systems and knowledge. Similarly, Native American music is deeply intertwined with their history and education, serving to pass down stories, customs, and oral traditions. Understanding and studying Native American music is essential for preserving cultural heritage and inspiring contemporary artists, prompting conversations about cultural appropriation and tradition erosion.
